Dr. Rolf Husmann
(Germany)

Educated at the universities of Göttingen
and London, he obtained his PhD with a
study on the history of the Nuba, Sudan. As assistant professor at
Göttingen University, he specialized in visual anthropology and
anthropology of sport. He was a co-founder and board member of the
European Association of Social Anthropologists. From 2001 until 2008, he
was chairman of the Commission on Visual Anthropology of the
International Union of the Anthropological and Ethnological Sciences. He
lectures at the Göttingen and other universities. He is one of the
organizers of the Göttingen International Ethnographic Film Festival.
His own filmmaking includes: Nuba Wrestling, Maire Nui Vaka, Destination
Samoa, etc. His latest projects include a methodological study of
returning old ethnographic films in digital form to their country of
origin.

Susanne Hammacher
(UK)

She is the film officer at the Royal Anthropological
Institute in London and coordinator of the RAI International Festival of
Ethnographic Film since 2002. She read anthropology, economics and
history of art at the University of Basel, Switzerland. She worked for
over ten years as head of education and public programmes at the Museum
der Kulturen in Basel, and as exhibition officer at the Museum of
Childhood, V&A, London. She has been conducting fieldwork in Mexico
since 1982 on aspects of trading and market systems, gender and
migration, textiles (silk production, platting, weaving), community
museums and audio-visual indigenous media. She is curating and
facilitating various screening and outreach projects in London as well
as working on the digitisation of the RAI collection.

(Serbia)

He has been the film programme editor
of Tribina mladih since 1980, where he has been editing and organizing
numerous film events and since 1984 he is also the film programme editor
of KCNA. He is one of the founders of international festivals of
ecological and ethnological films, and during his rich career he worked
as a jury member of many film festivals but he was also a general
manager of Zvezda film and director of Novosadska Arena film festival.
He is one of the founders of the festival of European and independent
films EUPO- IN FILM and is still its editor-in-chief. He is a co-author
of the paper dedicated to the programme strategy of digitalization of
cinema network Premiera- Eurocinemas. He is a laureate of numerous
awards and acknowledgments, the latest being the award for his
contribution to the development of cinematography he received at the
International Festival of Film and New Media Cinema City in 2008. |
