Collection Warriors' equipment is divided into following groups: Neolithic arms, Celtic arms, medieval arms and arms from the later centuries up to 1920. The most numerous are ancient and medieval items. Among them, the most important are stone axes, iron Celtic and old Slavic arms, clubs, maces, three-braid whips, handžari - curved daggers, yataghans, then wonderful old-fashioned pistols and rifles, slingshots, arrows, armours, helmet with irons for slaves, knives, axes etc. Beside arms, the collection contains other items used by warriors: grease boxes, arbije, powder boxes, cannon balls, etc. It also includes flags, military documents, photographs etc. Many pieces were made just to be adornment and used only in special occasions such as weddings or birth of a male child. |
