| This collection consists of pictures, lithography, watercolours and drawings, which primarily have documentary value and represent the part of museum material that has been gathered from the very inception of the Museum. It contains portraits of town people painted in the second half of the 19th century, which are excellent material for research work on way of dressing in particular layers of society. They are works of local or travelling painters. | ![]() |

After being detached from the of auspices of the National Museum in 1901, the watercolour albums of folk costume by Nikola Arsenović as well as drawings of zubun and other clothing items were entered into the inventory of Ethnographic museum. By the middle of 20th century a few more hundreds of
watercolours, drawings of folk costumes, ornaments from items of clothing, and scenes presenting the way of living were added to the collection. Their authors were Vladislav
Titelbah, Carol Pop de Satmari, Đoka Milovanović, Dragutin Inkiostri and others.
Significant part of the fund are watercolours and drawings of clothes, jewellery and decorations on textile and Easter eggs, made by Museum painters and illustrators Olga Benson, Milica Matlas, Radmila Tanasković and others. |
