Curator: Saša Srećković

A scene from the film on St. Peter's day
This collection was made in 1992, and it is connected with initiation of the Festival of Ethnologic Film organized by Ethnographic museum. It contains ethnologic films, records, field materials and museum events. Some of the records are on celluloid film tape of 16 and 32 mm, and most of them are on VHS and SP Beta cassettes.
A scene from the film on cross-bearers
Beside production of Ethnographic Museum, films and video records were made in film and TV studios all over Serbia, Yugoslavia and from European centres such as Macedonia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, France, Denmark, Sweden and others. Some of the records are presents bestowed during festivals, and some were bought.
A scene from the film Fairy Dance
The first ethnologic film record, the copy of which is kept in this collection, is done by Petar Petrović, Museum curator, in the 30ties of 20th century, on the occasion of wedding customs in Topola and Galičnik.
Thematically, films are devoted chiefly to customs and spiritual culture and in a smaller degree to material and social culture.
